My jewelry studio… a peek inside

My jewelry studio is where I have spent most of my time over the years. So I thought for my first blog post it would be fun to share this space with you. It is where I create all the wonderfully colorful things you can find on my website. I recently gave my studio a makeover so now is the perfect time for me to share.

My jewelry studio wasn’t the prettiest place. It also wasn’t very inspiring. All sorts of things that don’t belong have been piling up in here for a while. There are lots of cabinets for storage but they were unorganized and held all kinds of non jewelry making things. The wall color was a relaxing shade of pale blue but it got to be depressing after a while. I was not feeling creative when I was in the space any longer. You could even say I was in a creative rut. And I’m sure the chaos that was going on in here did not help any.

Painting the space is something I had on my list for a while now. But the thought of all that was involved kept me from doing so. Then came the Covid pandemic…my state locked down everything. I now had more than enough time to give my studio a makeover. So that’s exactly what I did.

before- my bench and work area.. full of clutter
before- my office space, not that exciting but clean (because I had already started cleaning up when I took this photo) but normally my desk is covered in paperwork.

There was some heavy duty cleaning that took place, a fresh new paint color, and some furniture rearranging. It is now a much nicer space to be in. It is also much more efficient as to the way I work. And this is probably the cleanest its been in years!

After! – my bench in its new place
After! – my office space, much more organized and also decorated with artwork and greenery

All this cleaning and painting happened during the Covid pandemic. My plan was to eventually get a few other rooms in my house painted as well. But ever since I painted this room, I haven’t wanted to leave it! I have been so inspired in my “new” studio space that I have been making jewelry daily ever since the makeover! It’s definitely a much happier space now. And needless to say, the other rooms in my house still have not been painted.
